Corocora - Capsule Collection

“Corocora” is a Columbian outerwear brand, where the name is derived from a bird Red Scarlet Ibis found in the tropics of South America. The brand is inspired by Columbian biodiversity and combines fashion with contemporary craftsmanship empowering women. The collaboration was a beautiful amalgamation of Indian and Columbian traditions, art, and textile. The designs showcase easy silhouettes fused with digital printing and embroidery of the Red Scarlet Ibis and Orchid that represent the brand.

On The Edge

Nature has its own limits, it is a human job to protect, preserve and embrace it. 'On The Edge' is the collection trying to give voice to these speechless creatures. The name itself suggests on the edge of extinction. It is inspired by endangered species and need to protect them. The collection mainly projects three endangered species; Galapagos Penguin, Jade Vine, and Giant Panda. These are delicately hand-embroidered on soft organza and silks. The garments are easy-going, elegant and chic.

Paint the Town

"Paint the Town" is the editorial shoot which took place in London. We worked as a team on the shoot and studied the trends of the season, then prepared a cheat sheet. We had Colour Blocking as our key trend and oversize shirts, vinyls, pastels, etc as others. We sourced from several high street brands such as Bershka, Zara, River Island, etc. We created the looks keeping our trends in focus with lots of layering and play of silhouettes.

The Prét collection is inspired by the couture collection of Ralph & Russo Spring/Summer 2017. Key trends were derived from the couture collection and put together to form an easy to wear collection. From the entire collection, one garment was stitched. It consists of a bustier with a laser-cut neckline, a pair of laser-cut culottes and a crystal hand-embellished waist belt.

Bonne Nuit

'Bonne Nuit' is a French word which means good night. The collection consists of cute and comfortable sleepwear inspired from the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". The movie is 2005 British-American musical fantasy film directed by Tim Burton, based on the book of same name written by Roald Dahl. The collection combines comfort, creativity and functionality to create a sleepwear range for men & women.

Ikat is one of the styles of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process as similar to tie-dye. In this project I experimented on Ikat using various techniques. The final product was a six panelled handkerchief skirt embellished by frayed flowers made of same fabric with some pearls.
